Football-Data Needs Your Help In June 2026, Football-Data will be 25 years old I could never have foreseen it would still be going after all this time. For nearly all of it, the results and betting odds data it provides have been free, funded by advertising revenue from the bookmakers. In recent years, it's become more and more diffuclt to maintain this revenue stream. Today, the majority of this comes from just one bookmaker - bet365 - hence why you see a lot of their banners on the site. But to continue to benefit, there are now new terms and conditions to meet. If Football-Data cannot send sufficient new customers, this funding is at risk. How can you help? If you use Football-Data and are 18 or over, please consider opening a new bet365 betting account (if you don't already have one) via any of the bet365 text or banner links, make a deposit (minimum £5), and place a bet. bet365 will also give up to £30 free bets. That's it! Users taking advantage of the bet365 welcome offer should familiarise themselves with their full terms and conditions. This is not an encouragement to gamble. But collecting and cleaning the data I make available is time consuming, laborious and monotonous. Having a renveue is the compensation for this. I don't want to go back to charging a subscription fee; I very much feel the content should remain free. I also don't want to have to close the site altogether. In the event that Football-Data loses its main advertising stream, the likely outcome would be a signifcant scaling back on what I provide, potentially in the extreme just an archiving of the existing data with no new data collection going forward. This would also apply to the sister site Tennis-Data.co.uk.
