West Brom v Liverpool: Baggies good value for win at home

Posted 27th October 2011

The late kick-off in the Premier League this Saturday sees Liverpool travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom. After early struggles, the Baggies seemed to have turned their season around and they have now won two on the bounce and are up to 12th in the league table. Liverpool, meanwhile, stuttered last weekend when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich but they are still in 6th and four points off the Champions League places.

This should be a very interesting game as West Brom have picked up some good form recently while Liverpool will be looking to get back to winning ways. The bookmakers make the Reds favourites to take all three points and a Liverpool win is evens with Unibet while a West Brom victory is 27/10 and a draw offered at 23/10.

Roy Hodgson would love nothing more than to get one over on the side that sacked him midway through last season. With the way his West Brom side are playing, they do have a good chance this Saturday.

In their last two games the Baggies have picked up wins over local rivals Wolves and Aston Villa in a tough couple of fixtures. The win over Wolves was straight-forward but the win at Villa Park last Saturday was impressive as West Brom came from a goal behind to dominate and win the match 2-1 in a heated affair.

Confidence is growing in the side and they are starting to come good after a poor opening to the campaign. Roy Hodgson can get this team playing well and winning games as he showed last season when he steered them to 11th in the league after they were staring relegation in the face.

Kenny Dalglish must have been disappointed that his side could not overcome Norwich at Anfield last weekend but it seemed to be just one of those days where the chances would not go in. Liverpool got over that result with a good 2-1 over Stoke in the Carling Cup midweek and Luis Suarez was back in goalscoring form with two goals. The Uruguayan has been a great signing for Liverpool but he also misses a lot of chances as was seen in the Norwich game and he must be more clinical in front of goal.

Liverpool have lost their last two on the road in the league and West Brom are good value at 27/10 to pick up the win. They are coming off a great win over Villa and the Hawthorns should be rocking for the game on Saturday evening.

Also West Brom have scored seven of their nine goals in the first half this season so back them to take the lead early on and see out the game from there. They are 21/4 with Unibet in the halftime/fulltime market.

Tip #1: Back West Brom to win at 27/10 with Unibet.

Tip #2: Back West Brom/West Brom in the halftime/fulltime market at 21/4 with Unibet.
