RED-HOT AGUERO IN HUNT FOR GOLDEN BOOT
Posted 16th September 2011
Before the Super Sunday clash between Manchester United and Chelsea, crosstown rivals Manchester City head to West London to try and claim the points that will take them, temporarily, to the top of the Premier League. It has taken Sergio Aguero no time at all to adapt to life in the Premier League having scored six goals already and 888Sport offers a best industry price 4/1 that the Argentinian finishes his first year in England as the league's top goalscorer.
Aguero's hat-trick against Wigan last week made him the fourth City player since the start of last season to score a treble in one match, more than any other club. Ahead of their game at Fulham, best industry prices are offered by 888Sport that the scorer of City hat-tricks already this season, Aguero (25/1) and Edin Dzeko (33/1), score another three on Sunday.
The last time City's opponents on Sunday, Fulham, failed to win one of their first four top-flight games was in 1951/52, a season that saw them relegated. New Fulham manager Martin Jol will no doubt be feeling the pressure and he is 25/1 with 888Sport to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post this season while his team are 8/1 to be relegated.
In order to get anything against City, Jol will be hoping Clint Dempsey, Fulham's highest ever scorer in the Premier League with 34 strikes, packs his shooting boots. Dempsey is a best industry price 11/1 with 888Sport to open the scoring at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
Kicking off an hour later on Sunday, Manchester United host Chelsea having scored 18 goals in their four Premier League games. The in-form United strike-duo of Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have contributed 10 of these and 888Sport offers 2/1 that Rooney scores in a United win on Sunday. 13/5 is offered that Chicharito hits the back of the net to fire his side to victory and a best industry price 40/1 that he goes one better than at Bolton last week by scoring a hat-trick.
Sir Alex Ferguson has already said that £18million ‘keeper David de Gea will return in goal for United on Sunday after he lost his place to Anders Lindegaard in midweek. 888Sport offers 6/5 that the 20 year old Spaniard keeps a second clean sheet on the trot for United.
Tony Pulis' Stoke City side have made one of the brightest starts to the season, including last week's impressive 1-0 win against Liverpool. They face Sunderland on Sunday with two strikers discarded by North London clubs during last month's transfer deadline day facing each other.
Both Peter Crouch and Nicklas Bendtner made impressive starts for their new clubs last weekend. Crouch will be hoping to get his first goal for his new club on Sunday and is a best industry price 15/2 with 888Sport to grab the opening goal against Sunderland. Bendtner wasn't able to fire his team to victory against Chelsea last week, but will be hoping to have a change of fortune against Stoke and is 4/1 to grab his first goal for his new club in a Sunderland win.
